Words by the Water    (29th Febraury – 9th March )
The venue for this annual festival is the Theatre by the Lake in Keswick . For ten days writers and readers get together to share the pleasure of books, words and ideas. The full programme of literary events includes workshops, book launches and special exhibitions.

The 17th Jennings Keswick Jazz Festival    (7th – 11th )
This enormously popular event has a national and international following. The five days of the festival are preceded by 3 days of extra special jazz events between 4th and 6th May. The main festival takes place across a dozen venues comprising over 100 different jazz events. The Cumberland Ale Keswick Mountain Festival    (14th – 18th )
This festival, now in its second year, offers an activity-based programme of guided walks of all grades, workshops in hill skills and conservation, as well as more adventure activities including mountain biking, ghyll scrambling and water sports. All these activities and more will be available in the company of experienced adventure specialists. The Keswick Beer Festival    (6th and 7th )
The Keswick Beer Festival is held in the grounds of the Keswick Rugby Club close to the town centre. Thousands of locals and visitors alike can sample and enjoy over 150 real ales, ciders and wines whilst listening to live bands and entertainment. The Keswick Traditional Christmas Fayre   (7th)
Formerly known as the Keswick Victorian Fayre this event marks the start of the festive season in Keswick. Organised by local community organisations the Fayre features lots of decorated charity stalls and a whole host of live entertainment. Enjoy a great day out !
